Focus of the mission
The objective of the mission was to present the industrial context of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region to the Board of Investment, in particular that of industry 4.0 applied to the sectors of Mechanics, Automation and Robotics.

The reason why Gogate chose this region of Italy is that in this specific geographical territory there are companies that have developed very advanced technologies and that are considered among the best for Italy.
Therefore, Gogate has worked to create a liaison between the BOI and two main promoters of this industrial and technological development which are the Technological Pole of Pordenone and Pordenone Fiere, the first one is a well know incubator of highly qualified and innovative local companies, the second is
one of the most esteemed industrial trade fair organizers of Italy.

Networkings:

The two days mission were scheduled in a visit to SAMUEXPO exhibition the first day, in a seminar and knock door to the Polo Tecnologico premises for the second day.

Thursday 6th February

The visit to SAMUEXPO exhibition started in the very early afternoon and it concluded in the evening at about 18.00 o’clock.
SAMUEXPO is an International biennial metalworking, subcontracting and plastic exhibition taking place in Pordenone Fiere (Italy) from 06.02.2020 to 08.02.2020. Samuexpo is comprised of the most important technical fairs of Pordenone Fiere: SAMU METAL, the exhibition on tools and technology for metalworking,
SAMUPLAST, the exhibition on plastics, technology and machinery and SUBTECH, the exhibition on metalworking subcontracting.
The BOI was welcomed by Ms Battistella and Mr Terrin and during the tour the delegates met 6 selected companies belonging to the Machinery, Software, Automation and Robotic sector.
All companies perfectly fit with the BOI target and shown a very high level of technological skills and know How.
They all welcomed the BOI delegation showing a great interest for the information that the BOI Director and delegates forwarded to them about the opportunities of doing business in Thailand, the Governmental Investment incentives programme and they particularly welcomed the opportunity to join the Subcon mission.
The last B2B held by the BOI delegation is particularly important for the creation of a lasting and profitable business relation which is the one with OMERA. The company already set an on-going business in Thailand with many customers in the Country and important commissions.
This is a good contact to take care of because it is a potential candidate for the BOI application.

The owner of the company is also the President of the Italian association of manufacturers for machine tool, robot and automation, UCIMU.
The President of UCIMU is willing to meet the BOI delegation in occasion of the next mission in Italy that will take place in Emilia Romagna Region, in April in order to discuss and evaluate the possibility to join Subcon mission 2020 both as CEO of OMERA company and as President of UCIMU and to involve in the
mission the companies affiliated to the Association.
This can be the occasion for planning a specific seminar for next year to be hold in the premises of UCIMU.

Friday 7th February

Gogate.

Gogate met the delegation in the front door of the exhibition at 9.30 a.m. and together they reached the Meeting Room for the seminar.
Few participants joined the seminar because the most part of the company representatives had to stand in their pavilions but the one that were able to come were very impressed by the presentation of the BOI director and the information received during the B2B.
The seminar was joined by 2 companies and a cluster.
The cluster named COMET is the Engineering cluster for Friuli Venezia Giulia Region and coordinates the initiatives aimed at developing the regional metalworking industry for the sectors relating to mechanics,
thermoelectromechanics, components, plastics, machinery and metal production.

The cluster was involved in the BOI mission by the Polo Tecnologico of Pordenone but they are two separated and different organizations in mutual cooperation.

The Representative of COMET was Riccardo Zanelli, Project Manager who shown a deep interest for the information gathered during the seminar and he asked to be kept up to date about the progress of the Subcon mission and the future initiatives of BOI.
Even if COMET cannot be counted as Networking for this mission because was not represented by its Director but only by its Project Manager, this meeting definitely provided to BOI a good contact to follow up because it can be the channel to spread the knowledge of BOI and Thailand business opportunities among its affiliated companies and Gogate will stay in contact in order to plan a seminar for next year.
The seminar started at 10.15 with the opening remarks by Mr Renato Pujatti for Pordenone Fiera and Mr Marco Olivotto on behalf of the Polo Tecnologico.
At 10.30 Ms Cherdan Arunrat, Director of BOI Paris Office started the BOI presentation focusing on the following topics:

The interest of the Networking to discover business opportunities in Thailand was high, therefore it was
planned to maintain contact and propose another mission for 2021 with focus the organization of a seminar for the companies belonging to the Polo of Pordenone.
Outcomes of the mission
The interest for Thailand shown by companies during the meetings and the seminar was remarkable and there are good perspectives for organize a new delegation of Italian companies for Subcon 2020.
